  Very nice employees. We gave passports in 5 minutes, there was no queue. To apply you need a photo, a form and confirmation with a barcode.

  I recently received an X1 student visa through this office, and my experience was great. As of July 2026, you no longer need an appointment. You simply walk in and are helped on a first-come, first-served basis. Everything was super quick. They only asked for my application form, passport, and a passport photo, nothing else. I’m not sure if this depends on the staff member, so I’d still recommend bringing copies of all your documents just in case. I received my passport with the visa three days later during the pickup hours (14:00–15:00). I had paid €240 for the express service, which I think is quite excessive considering the standard service only takes about one extra day. ———————————————- Things they could improve: There’s no reason to have only one office in Madrid. I had to travel all the way there just for a five-minute appointment. It’s a waste of time and money. Also, why can’t this be done online?
